Would you like to sing NEXT Summer in the closed season? Tell the Webmaster.
Most choirs have a ˜closed season” over the Summer which is not to the liking of many singers because the break of 3 months is too long. Many choristers have complained of ˜withdrawal
symptoms”. In consequence, the Web-master is prepared to promote an event provided there is sufficient interest. The idea is to sing some Bach 4-part chorales, a bit of serious Mozart, charming and tuneful
Schubert, something modern, perhaps Gershwin (no, not all of it is complicated), and a few unaccompanied Folk Songs.
The event would be very low key. Above all it is a bit of fun for your enjoyment. It is open to all singers. You don’t have to belong to a choir. Perhaps you haven’t sung since you
were at school or University but feel you would like to have a go. You would not be singing to any audience, just ourselves.
The venue would be somewhere within a 7 mile radius of Oxted. The date is dependent upon the interest show. If this interests you, please e-mail
Singalong.

The Mayfield Festival Choir choir comprised around 80 singers drawn from local choirs complemented by Scholae Cantorum of St. Leonard's-Mayfield School. The concert was a great success and
realised a net profit of £3325!
